Domain name speculation in future technologies
I was recently thinking about buying up domain names for uninvented technologies. So my speculating began…
This was on Monday while watching The Gadget Show on Channel Five. They were discussing life in a wireless free existence…
Bingo, what about technology being powered wirelessly.. And what kind of technology would sell like hot cakes…
Televisions!! Imagine having a wireless tv… And everything else connected to it wirelessly. Your wireless tv could be the central hub for all your wireless connections in the home…. A dream? Or on the internet for sale in a few years?
Well, the bottom line is that I now own the .com hyphenated version of “wireless tvs”. The question is, should I just sit on the domain, or launch it now to maybe get some traffic already?
With the eventual goal to sell the domain in the future. How much could this domain name be worth in a few years?

I don’t have that much experience, but I think you could be onto a winner there, price - no idea, but could be worth a bit in the future

I think Panasonic have already launched a wireless tv of some sort. It’s not a tv that is powered-wirelessly. But the dvd player, blu-ray player, Sky box etc, etc - all can connect wirelessly to it.
Get the site up and running and I’d focus on that for now, maybe in the future a tv powered by wireless could be available as you say.

Don’t know myself. I think it’s a long time off before all of our appliances are powered completely wirelessly.

I’d like to believe that this technology will be available soon. In reality though I can’t see it happening for a long time. The wireless tv’s like that Panasonic though could be a good shout. I’d say that it could be the future to have the tv as the hub that all other appliances link into - sky box, dvd player, blu-ray, games consoles. If your tv is the “wireless hub” as such, i.e. plugged into your phone-line, then you wouldn’t need a wireless router. So your laptops, desktop computers, ipods, phones etc could then use that is the wireless link.
That’s my vision of the future, anyone else got a different view?

@George - Thanks, I’m planning on getting the site up and running soon
@Big Rich - I think that is the way that I’ll make the site, focusing on the wireless tv’s that connect to the other appliances wirelessly.
